Unlocking Trauma: Understanding the AIP Model of EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence based therapeutic approach designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. Informed by the Adaptive Information Processing model (AIP) we can process and resolve your trauma, reducing your trauma response and triggers so your life can truly become more enjoyable. Traditionally, gentle eye movements are used to stimulate processing, but since shifting to virtual therapy clients now use a simple self-tapping method which is just as effective. EMDR has gained recognition for its efficacy in treating conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression, providing people with tools to address and heal from their past experiences. Sound too good to be true? It may sound weird, but it works!
